Remove Metadata from Dreamina, Seedream and Jimeng Images

ByteDance uses every layer at once. CapCut says output from Dreamina's Seedream 5.0 Pro and Seedance 2.5 carries a visible AI label, C2PA Content Credentials and an invisible watermark. Jimeng, the Chinese service, shows an AI mark and a brand watermark, and services in China must write the GB 45438-2025 implicit label into file metadata. BlankAI removes the metadata layers only.

China's implicit AIGC label

Since 1 September 2025, China's Measures for Labeling AI-Generated Synthetic Content and the mandatory standard GB 45438-2025 require services to write an implicit label into file metadata. In images it is an XMP property in the namespace http://www.tc260.org.cn/ns/AIGC/1.0/, or a PNG text chunk named AIGC, holding the producer's name and a content ID.

Article 10 of the Measures prohibits anyone from maliciously deleting, altering or hiding these labels, and from providing tools that help others do so. The Cyberspace Administration of China published enforcement cases in April and September 2026. If you are in mainland China, do not remove AI labels from generated content. BlankAI reports this label so you can see it; it is not a tool for removing it where that is prohibited.

The API watermark parameter

Developers using the Seedream API get the visible “AI generated” mark by default. The watermark parameter controls it. The C2PA and invisible watermark layers are separate from that setting.

What BlankAI removes, and what it does not

The same rules apply to every file, whatever made it. BlankAI cleans the metadata that travels with a file. It cannot reach anything that is part of the image itself.

What is TC260:AIGC in my image's metadata?

It is China's implicit AI label under GB 45438-2025, written by services operating in China. It records that the content is AI-generated and who produced it.

Is it legal to remove the AIGC label?

Not in mainland China: Article 10 of the labeling measures prohibits deleting or altering it. Elsewhere, generator terms may still forbid it.

Does BlankAI remove the visible AI mark?

No. BlankAI does not edit the image. Visible marks stay.
